Opened in 1954, Kanagawa Kenritsu Ongakudo has been an important centre for local people to appreciate music events and to gather information on the field for more than 40 years. Constructed according to a design based on that of the Royal Festival Hall in London, it was refurbished in 1988 to accommodate the latest facilities and to improve its efficiency in presenting music concerts and other music-oriented performances. The Hall incorporates an archive.
