The Toshiba International Foundation is a non-profit, grant making organisation dedicated to promoting understanding of Japan through international exchanges while contributing local and global community development. The Foundation strives to contribute to the development of international understanding by promoting exchange activities, including the organisation and sponsorship of symposia and seminars that further worldwide understanding of Japan. It also participates in programmes designed to support development of international communities. Foundation activities include: (i) holding symposia and seminars and ancillary activities to promote understanding of Japan; (ii) participation and co-operation in programmes that contribute to the development of communities overseas; (iii) support for research into and investigation of measures that further oversees understanding of Japan; (iv) support for the education of people who can promote international understanding of Japan; and (v) gathering and dissemination of information to promote understanding of Japan and to support development of communities abroad.
