 Bak-truppen (literally rear-guard as opposed to avant-garde) is a group of artists which create music, text and movement for performance in various public spaces. The group started as a theatre company in Bergen in 1986 and developed into a cross-over art collaboration during the 1990s. Site and situation affects the work and creates an unpredictable landscape where the borders between actors and spectators, arranged and improvised material, vanish. Bak-truppen has presented 75 productions in 19 countries in Europe, Asia and USA.
