The city centre campus of RUFA comprises three Faculties - Archaeology, Architecture and Plastic Arts. The Plastic Arts Faculty currently has over 300 students and offers secondary- and tertiary-level programmes in traditional painting, western painting, graphic arts, modern sculpture, woodcarving, bronzecasting, ceramics, weaving theory, embroidery and textile design and lacquerware. The Faculty has its own shop (see below), which offers a commercial outlet for the work of both staff and students. The Architecture and Urbanism Faculty of the University has for some years been a growth area, since the Cambodian building industry has expanded rapidly and there is considerable pressure to produce trained architects as quickly as possible. The Faculty offers a seven-year course of study including some basic building methodology, territorial and environmental planning, urban design, interior design and historical archaeology. At the time of writing over 550 students are involved in this programme. The Archeaology Faculty offers a four-year tertiary course of study which incorporates prehistoric archaeology, the archaeology of historical monuments and general anthropology. Over 130 students are currently enrolled in this programme, which is taught with the assistance of French, German and Japanese expatriate staff. The Faculty publishes a Bulletin containing the results of recent archaeological excavations and research (see below). The Plastic Arts Faculty offers secondary and tertiary programmes of study and the Architecture and Urbanism and Archaeology Faculties offer tertiary programmes of study only.
